If you are aged between 11-16 and are interested in applying, final auditions for this academic year are on Sunday 15 September 2013 from 1.30pm at Dancexchange. This is the final opportunity for talented young dancers to join the new intake of students as they begin a year of exciting opportunities working with regional dance artists, guest choreographers and international artists.

Centres for Advanced Training (CATs)
Centres for Advanced Training (CATs) are organisations(or consortia of organisations) that provide children and young people with local access to the best advanced dance training and strong links with the music and dance profession. They ensure that children who are talented andcommitted dancers and musicians have appropriate, tailormade specialist provision.The Centre for Advanced Training for South Asian andContemporary Dance started with its first intake of studentsin 2009. The partnership is led by DanceXchange (NationalDance Agency for Birmingham and the West Midlands) andsampad South Asian Arts for the Kathak and Bharatanatyamstrands of training.The CAT has been designed for students aged between 11and 18 who show exceptional talent and potential inContemporary or South Asian styles. They attend theprogramme alongside their formal education with meanstestedfinancial support from the Music and Dance Schemeto help them do so. The Department for Education, Musicand Dance Scheme supports the CAT and is unique to theWest Midlands in its focus on South Asian Dance.
