We’re delighted to offer primary school aged children in schools and those being home schooled, the opportunity to be part of an exciting BCDH Digital Dance Project, New Horizons!

We’re offering a weekly on-line dance programme for children in school and at home. The project offers an original piece of choreography shared over four weekly sessions, which can be learnt at a time and location to suit you and your children. And to boot your children can be filmed and form part of a dance film at the end of the project, should they wish, but don’t worry if they don’t, it is optional.

We’re working with 2 professional dance artists to choreograph the dance piece so that it is suitable for different ages.
Reception Year 2dance is being choreographed by our very ownJodie Stus, who is our BCDH Coordinator.

The Year 3 6 Dance is being choreographed byMark Anderson, Artistic Director of Infuse Dance Company.
Week commencing Monday 08 June- New Horizons first weekly online session will be available to schools, parents, carers and children at home. Choreography will then follow:
Wk 2 available w/c Monday 15th June

GET INVOLVED

Teachers
Register your class by sending an email to maggie@blackcountrydance.comso you can access the link to the on-line sessions.
Do also please send the information home to parents/carers so that children at home can participate in the project as well, if they wish.

Home Schoolers
Parents/guardians need to register their child or children by emailing maggie@blackcountrydance.comto receive the link to the weekly workshop content.
Anyone can learn the dance without submitting a film of the children in action, but you will need to register to receive the link for the workshop so that we know how many participants we have had for our funders.
At the end of the four weeks schools and individuals can send their filmed dances to BCDH to be part of the film: A NEW HORIZON OF

DIGITAL DANCING.
Further information will be available about this at a later date.

Deadline
The deadline for submitting filmed dance entries isFriday10thJulyso you have plenty of time to decide and rehearse. The final film will be released in thefirst week of August and everyone will be able to see it and join in the dance again!
We are really excited about this new digital project and hope that as many people as possible can get involved!
Stay safe, stay happy and keep dancing!

Finally, HUGE thanks to the public funding we have received for the project from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
